Tuesday's Self Portrait: Have fun in April

A long winter, grey and overcast and you too starved for light. Then, as the plane powers up, and tears through the clouds. a ray of sunshine, sharp and bright, almost as brittle as the plastic cup the flight attendant gives you. The sun pours through your window, its light creates joyful patterns as it passes through the ice cubes of your soda. It's a simple celebration, but oh so powerful. It's a song you learned as a child, and all you needed were 25 winters to remember it: Yes, yes, the hollidays have just started and I'm on my way south!
